Professional experience

I have over 20 years of experience in the information Technology Industry, Business and Academia with expertise in developing, managing and delivering technology strategies and solutions, business processes, cross functional and software development teams, budgets, vendors and customer relationships. This includes specific experience in the Consulting Industry, in-house and outsourced application management and delivery with emphasis in the web, online education, financial services and retail/manufacturing industries. I have been providing advice and direction for executives on technology and operations matters, their ability to impact revenue and cost in real terms and the creation and motivation of teams that can implement solutions based on these technologies. Primary focus in recent years has been program and project management, organizational development, process transformation and standardization, operations streamlining and the migration of legacy infrastructure, platforms and software to a centralized architecture foundation with regional/local footprints.

During my tenure with Whirlpool I have managed teams of Project Managers, Architects, Software Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance individuals. I have worked with companies at all levels in transformation, transition, turmoil looking to realize their value from their technology investments. My professional tenure includes Boston Consulting Group, Thomson Financial (Reuters), Walgreens, Whirlpool and a number of educational institutions I have taught and developed courses for. For the past six years I’ve been with Whirlpool involved in global e-Commerce and e-Business and more recently with Enterprise Mobility. Prior to Whirlpool I worked for Walgreens with their Merchandising Strategy and Development unit that was formed to drive the concept development for a smaller format store to penetrate urban and congested areas in the US.

I studied Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science in the department of Mathematics at Patra, Greece followed by graduate studies towards a MS and Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. My specialization was vector and parallel computing using massively parallel computational models on supercomputing platforms.
