Highlights: On Wednesday 1 July 2015, at the Central Amphitheater of NCSR “Demokritos”, MIT Enterprise Forum Greece produced the Final Judging & Award Ceremony of MITEF Greece Startup Competition, a technology accelerating competition in which Greek technology entrepreneurs compete for prizes and global recognition that will further their startup goals.

Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Chairman of MITEF Greece, warmly thanked the 82 judges, 57 mentors and 16 workshop coaches who through their efforts made MITEF Greece Startup Competition possible.

 

The Finals & Awards event was officially opened by the Director and President of the Board at the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Dr. Nikolaos Kanellopoulos, who welcomed over 180 attendees.

 

Speaker Theodora Koullias during her presentation «Fashioning Tech: The State of the Fashion Economy», showcased the innovative features of the “smart” 314 bag that charges your smartphone and lights up inside to help you find your items.

 

Speaker Marc Filerman, during his presentation «Healthcare Innovation Commercialization: The Important First Steps» shared his professional experience and highlighted the current challenges that innovative technologies create for the startup ecosystem.

 

Charalampos Papadopoulos, economic diplomat & business developer for tech startups and host of the Finals & Awards ceremony, referred to his personal experience as member of the executive committee of the Competition, and also mentor and judge.
