Technologies That Matter: Downstream Space Applications
-
MITEF Greece is organizing in Greece for the first time a Technologies That Matter event titled “Downstream Space Applications” on September 27, 2016 at Deree – The American College of Greece, with the collaboration of the European Space Agency (ESA), EURISY and si-cluster|a Corallia initiative.
Nations have invested millions of euros in space related technologies. Some of these technologies may be able to solve problems in more “earthly” settings and help create thriving companies. Many of these technologies are available to be licensed. The event aims to inspire entrepreneurs about opportunities in downstream space applications, inform them about the steps needed to license such technologies and network them with entrepreneurs that have already walked the walk.
The primary goals of the event are: a) to be inspired about emerging opportunities in downstream space applications, b) to network with Greek entrepreneurs that have already walked the walk, c) to get informed on existing patents, ready to be taken to the next level, and d) to find out about support programs by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission.
“Technologies That Matter” events focus on emerging technologies and leverage MIT Technology Review content. They are designed to inspire and connect the members of the entire tech community such as entrepreneurs, startup members, academics, students, investors and business executives. MITEF Greece has organized in the past 5 “Technologies That Matter” events focusing on Genomics & Biotech, Robotics, Big Data, IoT and Life Sciences.
