Professional experience
Christos Ioannou was born in 1972 in Nicosia, Cyprus. His family moved to London in 1974, and in 1980 moved to to Greece where he graduated from Athens College in 1990. Mr. Ioannou received his BA from Cornell University in 1994 with a major in Mathematics, and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1998.
Mr. Ioannou’s primary involvement is with J&P (Overseas) and J&P-AVAX, where he serves as a Chairman on both boards. The J&P Group is privately owned and is involved in construction, concessions and real estate in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Europe.
Mr. Ioannou is also involved in the hotel business holding the Chairman of the Board position at Athinaion SA (Athenaeum Intercontinental) and the Athens boutique hotel group, YES Hotels (Semiramis, NEW Hotel etc). His business interests also include quick service restaurants (Pizza Hut, KFC in Greece) and shipping (SOLOI SA). Mr. Ioannou serves on several other boards including Aegean Airlines and Coca Cola HBC, where he is also a member of the audit committee.
He is also a member of the Oxford University Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors. Mr. Ioannou lives in Athens, Greece and is married with four children.
